There are crossover and there are luxury cars, and more than any other of their competitors, Lexus has succeeded in combining both with their 2015 RX 350.

Coming in with more than $40,000 price tag, the 2015 Lexus RX 350 crossover comes in with a winning combination of being luxurious, comfortable and extremely safe making it the first choice for many people looking to travel off-road in luxury and comfort.

For those among you who don’t know it, Lexus is the luxury car division of Toyota, with the Lexus name being adopted in the mid-90s. The original version of the RX 350 was released initially for domestic consumption in Japan in late 1997 under the title of the Toyota Harrier, making its stateside debut in March of the following year as the Lexus RX1.

Since its release, the Lexus RX, in one of its four previous versions, has remained among the most in demand SUV’s in the U.S., with more than 100,000 models hitting the roads every year.

This year’s version continues very much on the winning theme of being an upscale crossover that provides a winning combination of practicality and comfort dished out in equal proportions.

The 2015 RX 350 comes with a V-6, 3.5-liter 270-horsepower as standard fitted to 6-speed automatic transmission, while those opting for the F Sport model will be able to enjoy the benefits of Lexus’s sophisticated and fuel-efficient 8-speed automatic.

There are three versions of the 2015 Lexus RX 350 crossover available, with the standard version looking like being the most popular while for those who need something a little sportier then the RX F Sport will suit their specifications list thanks to its sophisticated transmission, a tighter suspension, more flamboyant styling and a long list of upgrades from the standard version. Anyone who can afford to put down at least $40,000 to buy a RX 350 may not be too worried about fuel economy, but for those who do, Lexus have released the RX 450h, which comes with a gas-electric hybrid power train designed to provide better gas mileage without detracting from the standard engine.

For their 2015 version of the RX, Lexus has made a number of interior changes, including a completely revamped audio system based around a 7-inch touchscreen display is now standard, with a reversing camera now coming as a standard.

As far as optional extras are concerned the 2015 Lexus RX will come with plenty, ranging from new LED headlights and fog lights while those stretching towards the RX F Sport will be able to add a choice of exclusive Cabernet leather color trends.

All of this year’s RX 350 models come equipped with 19 inch wheels as standard, while those opting for either the Premium or Luxury package will get a set of new triple-split, 5-spoke aluminum wheels of the same dimension.

In terms of materials, layout, and design, the Lexus RX’s interior is tastefully executed, particularly the steering wheel, the center control panel, and the center console with its hidden floor storage area, while the cabin has been tastefully set out on a combination of the leather and wood trim that exudes luxury and quality.

The driver and front seat passenger will enjoy considerable comfort, with both seats coming with 10-way power adjustment as well as the option of adding heating and ventilation. However, those confined to the rear seats may not find a long journey too enjoyable, especially if they are taller than average.

The reason for their relative discomfort is that the Lexus’s rear seat cushion has been mounted lower than you would normally expect to allow the 40/20/40-split rear seat backs to fold flat, which doubles cargo carrying capacity from 40 cubic-feet to 80.

Interestingly, this year’s version of the Lexus RX has obviously been designed with cargo carrying more in mind, as it has been fitted with a power liftgate as standard, making loading considerably less of a task easier.

Once again Lexus have succeeded in coming up with an improved version of their SUV crossover, with the 2015 version of Lexus RX which is more than likely to continue to be one of the most popular vehicles in its class.
