Some of the most unique and beautiful motorcars in the world on show at London's Salon Privé

Lovers of rare and vintage cars flocked to the Syon Park in London last weekend to take in the sights and sounds of the three-day Salon Privé event which provides automotive enthusiasts with an almost unrivaled gathering of classic vehicles and premium supercars brought to the event from around the world.

For those who appreciate the beauty and power in motor cars, then the Salon Privé, now in its ninth year, has been described as the ultimate in motor shows, through successfully combining the British Supercar Show alongside a Concours d’Elégance event sponsored by Chubb Insurance.

All that power and elegance running through the three-day event is the 200 acres Syon Park, in West London, which is owned by the Duke of Northumberland, one of England’s wealthiest men. Syon Park provides an unequaled backdrop for the event, with a full hospitality Garden Party, which runs through the entire three days of the show being open

Among the exclusive and unique cars on show were a Spyker C8 Aileron, while a Ferrari’ F12 TRS (a rare open-roofed version of the Berlinetta with a price tag of around $4 million) won the heart of most visitors to the show, indeed winning the award for the Most Spectacular Hypercar at the event. Also won the awards were the breathtakingly impressive Lamborghini Huracán which won the event’s prize for the most spectacular Supercar, while a vintage 1955 Jaguar D-Type listed the Best in Show prize at the Concours d’Elegance.

Another attraction which has become a standard at Salon Privé was an auction of rail vehicles, with the the most expensive car on the blog being a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder which was sold for around $3.5 million, while another, this time a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT/L Lusso took second place in the most expensive cars to be sold at the event at just over $3 million.
