Peninsula Hotels Makes Its Grand Entrance Into Europe With the Peninsula Paris

The Peninsula Hotel Group has recently announced the opening of their first hotel in mainland Europe, under the title of Peninsula Paris.

Peninsula Paris is situated in the very heart of the city just a few moments walk away from the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs Elysées, on 19 Avenue Kléber in the heart of the elegant 16th arrondissement, within easy reach of the city’s business district and some of the finest luxury shopping in the world.

The hotel is housed in a magnificent heritage building that was originally constructed in 1908, and offers guests the finest standards of hospitality throughout its spacious public areas, expansive rooftop and street level terraces and as well as some of the largest and luxurious guestrooms in Paris.

Meticulously renovated and tastefully modernised to reach the standards of excellence that Peninsula guests have come to expect from the group’s hotel situated around the world; the imposing building has been handsomely restored to its former glory through painstakingly utilising traditional techniques in order to preserve the heritage and authenticity of the building.

The hotel offers its guests a choice of 200 luxurious rooms, among them 34 opulent suites, five of which come with a private rooftop garden providing a breathtaking view of the Paris skylight. Each of the Peninsula’s guest rooms have been totally refitted and come with all the latest hi-tech facilities the modern business traveller requires to be in touch with the world.

Throughout the hotel, guests and visitors can feast their eyes on a unique collection of specially curated contemporary artworks, including samples of major collections from some of Europe’s most celebrated artists.

Guests will benefit from the very best of international cuisine, choice of six restaurants and bars, amongst them the Lobby bar, the Lili Chinese restaurant, the Kléber Terrace and Bar, the Cigar Lounge and, possibly the pick of the bunch, the L’Oiseau Blanc rooftop restaurant bar and terrace which gratify its visitors with 360° views over Paris at night.

As part of the modernisation process, the Peninsula Paris hotel management added a further three levels in order to house a stunning swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness center and spa, as well as vastly improved car parking facilities.

Guests who want to take a tour with a difference around Paris can hire a car and driver from the Peninsula’s extensive fleet of limousines which includes a signature Peninsula-green Rolls-Royce, a magnificent vintage 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II which is synonymous with the group’s image, and can be found in the group’s hotels throughout the world.

The revamped building, now well into its second century, comes with a lot of history, including being recognised as the place where the legendary composer George Gershwin created what is regarded as being one of his best-known compositions “An American in Paris” while staying at the hotel in 1928.

In more recent times, the building was the center of what became known as the Paris Peace Accords, which were negotiated by American Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and effectively brought the Vietnam War to a close in 1973. The final papers were signed in the salon, which now houses Le Bar Kléber.
