Four Seasons Hotel due to open in Moscow in the autumn

One of Moscow’s most striking buildings, Hotel Moskva, will be wearing some new plumage come the end of October with the opening of the Four Seasons Moscow Hotel.

Anyone familiar with the city of Moscow and its history may well be aware of the fact that the original Hotel Moskva, constructed during the mid nineteen thirties, is actually the building which features, to this day, on the label of one of Russia’s most famous exports, Stolichnaya vodka.

However, that iconic building sadly has been confined to history, having been demolished by the Russian authorities a decade ago, when it was decided that rather than repair the ageing building, it would be more prudent to re-build it from scratch.

Completed in 2012, the huge building will be the site of the new Four Seasons Moscow also contains a few floors of offices and private apartments as well as a modern shopping mall.

Guests at the hotel will not only enjoy the best of Russian hospitality and a taste of its history, but also its central location bang on Ploshchad Revolyutsii, within walking distance of the Red Square. Views from the top floors of the Four Seasons Moscow are reportedly breathtaking, especially at night when the onion like domes of the Kremlin are illuminated.

The Four Seasons Hotel Moscow offers its guests a choice of 180 rooms spread over 15 floors, which are reported to be amongst the most spacious in the city, all of them with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a number even having a balcony.

As the modern-day traveller would expect, Four Seasons Hotel Moscow’s bedrooms offer all the most modern communication facilities as well as a business center.

Those wishing to dine at the hotel, can enjoy a choice of two restaurants both of them serving traditional Russian food; and those just wishing to enjoy a drink or two after their meal, or entertain guests, can look in on the Moskovsky bar or the glass roofed Silk Lounge, situated in the lobby of the hotel.

On the fifth floor, guest will find the 3,000 square meter Amnis Spa offering a choice of traditional Russian health treatments coupled with all the latest in international therapies.

Amenities at the spa include an indoor pool, a nail bar, a hair salon as well as a modern Café serving light and healthy meals. The Four Seasons also plan to operate a state of the art fitness center, which will be open around the clock.
