Emirates opens a luxurious passenger lounge at Glasgow Airport

Emirates, rapidly becoming one of the world’s leading airlines, have recently opened a luxury class airport lounge at the busy Glasgow International Airport.

The lounge, which will be for the exclusive use of Emirates passengers either arriving or departing has opened just in time for the start of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Scotland during July and August.

Emiratesinvestment in the new passenger lounge is yet another indication of their desire to provide first-class service for business class passengers, as well as those holding Platinum and Gold Skywards membership.

Enjoying dramatic views of Glasgow International Airport’s runways against the backdrop of the green and pleasant Scottish hills, the new lounge has been designed to provide Emirates passengers with the latest in comfort, convenience and luxury whilst waiting for their planes to depart.

Business travellers can take the opportunity to use the lounge’s state of the art Business Centre, which comes with unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi access. Those wishing to grab a snack before departure, can partake of the lounge’s gourmet cuisine, served with Scottish flavor that has been exquisitely prepared on-site.

Passengers arriving at Glasgow after a long intercontinental flight can also freshen up before hitting the city was a warm and refreshing shower or relax and enjoy a therapeutic session in a scientifically-designed massage chair.

Other features which Emirates and bringing into Glasgow for their first and Business class passengers include exclusive First and Business Class check-in desks and priority baggage handling as well as the use of a complimentary chauffeur driven luxury car for any transfers.

According to Tim Clark, president of Emirates who was there to cut the ribbon, the 736 square meter lounge represents a significant £2 million direct investment for the company, with his opening not only to timed to coincide with the start of the Commonwealth Games, but also to celebrate the airline’s decade-long cooperation with Glasgow International Airport and their close ties throughout Scotland.
