China airlines to reintroduce the non-stop flights to New York next month

Taiwan’s largest airline company, China Airlines (CAL) recently announced that they will once again be providing non-stop flights to New York beginning the first week in October .

The service, which will operate three days a week will use Boeing 747-400 jets, and will depart each and every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 17:30., arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 20.15 with time differences taken into account.

The return flight from JFK will involve a a stopover in Anchorage, Alaska, meaning that the flight will land at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport two days after takeoff at 5:55 a.m.

According to a spokesperson for CAL, the airline will begin to use their newly acquired Boeing 777-300ERs to cover the route from the spring of next year.

CAL began to operate non-stop flights between Taoyuan and New York more than 30 years ago, but the routes popularity dwindled when they began to use a service stopover in Osaka, Japan in 2011.
