Fly Japan Airlines this Christmas and you get to keep your own wing

For the business traveller who thinks they have had everything, here is something new to tempt the palate of those planning to fly Japan Airlines any time next month.

Instead of the usual airline fare, Japan Airlines have linked up with the venerable Kentucky Fried Chicken chain and will be offering a menu of all the Colonel’s treats for passengers on specific international routes during that month.

To make the flight more festive, passengers travelling from the Narita airport to destinations in London, Paris, and Frankfurt in Europe as well as to New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego will be given some finger licking chicken for the second meal on these long international flights.

Whether by accident or design, these chicken treats will only be served to passengers flying either economy or premium economy, while those flying business or first class will have to do with the usual smoked salmon, caviar and champagne.

The reasoning behind this promotion is that Kentucky Fried Chicken is regarded as being a bit of a delicacy in Japan, and especially around Christmas and New Year’s time.

All of those passengers who will be partaking in this festive on flight meal, who obviously case have yet to taste the delights of Kentucky Fried Chicken will be served the meal in a special presentation box and a souvenir tray mat, that they will be able to take home after the flight to remind them that they were among the very few people in the world who were able to enjoy some Kentucky Fried Chicken, while a mile high in the skies.
